Mud was the order of the day as 50 intrepid walkers took to the lanes around Bighton village near Alresford for our annual dog walk.Participants could choose long or short walks and later, bright sunshine welcomed the weary travellers back to the village hall for a hearty ploughman’s lunch and home-made soups.

“The rain held off which was a relief,” said Home-Start Winchester Chairman Liz Cooper, “but after so many days of rain, everywhere was squelchy – but of course the dogs loved it.”

The annual event was sponsored by Gay Dog Boarding Kennels of Bradley, a family business over 50 years old, and owners Mel and Paul Bliss, their son Daniel and Labrador Nina all joined in the fun, heading out on the long walk and the outing raised over £700.
